For your InfoSec needs, here's a veeeery long list of real human-created passwords. The file is a .txt that's about 600 MB. INSTRUCTIONS You'll have much more success at finding vulnerabilities with this than a standard dictionary attack when testing the accounts that you're in charge of protecting to ensure their security. If using some GUI or script that can't handle the size of the file -- let's say good ole John the Ripper -- simply break it up into pieces before feeding it to your program. There are many ways of doing this, such as: 1. first uploading it to a SQL or NoSQL database (which I like because then you can intelligently subset the list of passwords to use) or 2. with Linux command line tools such as grep, head, tail, or even 3. with nice GNU little GUI tools (see related link below) RELATED LINKS http://superuser.com/questions/94083/how-to-split-large-file-on-windows http://www.openwall.com/john/doc/FAQ.shtml TANGENTIALLY RELATED QUOTABLE QUOTES "im a nerd who gets it in cause i was born in the bitstream manipulate the internet with all of my bit schemes these bit dreams from the crt to the flip screen" -- YTCracker "A lot of hacking is playing with other people, you know, getting them to do strange things." -- Steven Wozniak ───────────────────────────── ─────────────███───────────── ────────────██░██──────────── ───────────██░░░██─────────── ──────────██░░░░░██────────── ─────────██░░░░░░░██───────── ────────██░░░░░░░░░██──────── ───────███████████████─────── ──────██░██───────██░██────── ─────██░░░██─────██░░░██───── ────██░░░░░██───██░░░░░██──── ───██░░░░░░░██─██░░░░░░░██─── ──██░░░░░░░░░███░░░░░░░░░██── ─███████████████████████████─ ─────────────────────────────
